Abstract

|
Cystosarcoma phyllodes is a distinct clinicopathologic entity. In spite of the inclusion of "sarcoma" in the designation of cystosarcoma phyllodes, most of these neoplasms appear to be benign. However, a significant number of malignant
cystosarcoma
phyllodes have been reported. But, most of the reported patients were older.
We experienced a case of malignant cystosarcoma phyllodes in 16-year-old female whose diagnosis was suggested by fine needle aspiration cytology and later confirmed histologically. Because of the rarity of malignant cystosarcoma phyllodes in the
adolescent female and the value of fine needle aspiration(FNA) in diagnosing this neoplasm, this case is presented with cytologic and histologic findings.
